Najibullah Musafer was born in Qol Abchakan of De Afghanan area in Kabul city in 1963. He got his certificate from Faculty of Fine Arts in Kabul University in the field of drawing. In addition to interest in design and color from the beginning, Musafer was interested in filming and photography too. Having primary facilities, he recorded seconds and hunted the moments skillfully, and took unique photos.

  • Training photography both theoretically and practically in Fine Arts Faculty of Kabul University under supervision of Professor Fayyaz- 1988

Exhibitions, projects, participation in competitions and training photography:

  • Participation in Hazarajat Hunger Belt conducted by WFP and UNHCR, preparing photos and films from poverty of the people in Yakawlang, Dara Suf, Lal Wa Sarijangle Districts for six months. The photos have been published in Hunger Belt, Newsletter Hazarajat Assistant, Youth magazine, Solidarity Weekly, Musharekat-e- Melli Weekly, Negah-e- Naw Weekly, Art magazine, Kabul Weekly, Killid Weekly, Mursal Weekly, The Everest and some other foreign magazines- 2000
  • Holding photo exhibition under the title of “Winter of Hazarajat famine” on which 68 photos were displayed in Ayeena Media Center- 2002
  • Holding exhibition on which 300 photos were displayed for one week in Bamyan province- 2003

  • Holding joint photo exhibition initiated by AIHRC on the threshold of 8th March together with photo journalists from Ayeena Press Center in Fine Art Faculty in Kabul University. The exhibited photos unveiled the women status in Kandahar, Herat, Bamyan, Mazar-e- Sharif, Kunduz, Khost and Nangarhar- 2003
  • Exhibiting 16 photos among photo journalists of Ayeena Photo in Ayeena Press center in Kabul and other different provinces- 2004.
  • Exhibiting 5 photos among photo journalists of Ayeena Photo titled Election- 2004
  • Exhibiting 180 photos among the work of drawing, painting and photography in Association of University Students of Balkh University, exhibited at the request of youths from Faryab province- 2005.
  • Participation in photography competition among 90 photo journalists conducted by Interaction American Council for Voluntary International Action. 280 photos were exhibited in seven sections. Two photos of him in the fields of education and democracy won the first position- 2005.
  • Exhibiting 10 photos in a modern style under the title of “Playing with Color and Light” in an exhibition on the occasion of second anniversary of Foundation of Culture and Civil Society in its center in Kabul- 2005.
  • Exhibiting 58 photos on the occasion of 68th anniversary of independence of Afghanistan in conference room of Ministry of Youth Affairs- 2005.
  • Exhibiting 11 photos together with photos from an American photographer in Foundation of Culture and Civil Society- 2005.
